On the way to the district preliminary grounds, our protagonist, Jin Mori, who lives by himself after being separated from his grandfather, Taejin, when he was young, ended up chasing a purse snatcher and meeting Han Daewi and Yoo Mira who were also participating in the preliminaries there.

4 years ago, this was the first anime I watched while the pandemic struck, and I was still a broke otaku. Now, even if I can afford money to watch Netflix or Crunchyroll, I'd still want to go back to this awesome channel. It brings back memories. Thank you, Muse Asia.

Mori Jin's quick introduction;
– He's 17 years old
– A master in Taekwondo thanks to his Grandfather teaching him
– His fighting record of 299 Ws ( OoO ) (297 wins, 2 ties, 0 losses), he's never lost once.
After winning a fight, Mori goes on his way (presumably to school or home). He gets interrupted by a man with blonde hair wearing a black suit and congratulates Mori, proceeding to tell him that he's now qualified to participate in an event called God of Highschool. Our MC, however, pays him no mind. This causes the man to block his path and again, this time introducing himself as R and that he is a commissioner of the event, insists that Mori is qualified to be a participant. Mori interjects, saying that R also knows Taekwondo, this leaves R confused by the suddenness, with Mori saying, "Come on, don't pretend you don't know", stating that Mori himself is a black belt. This piques R's interest and so proceeds to tell Mori again, persistently telling him to join the God of Highschool… unsuccessfully. R goes on to say that the winner of the competition gets their wish granted, whatever it may be, causing Mori to stop and turn. But the MF simply responds, "ok cool bro" and continues to frolick away.
Feeling frustrated by Mori's behavior, R decides to throw a punch which grazes the right side of Mori's face (the force of the punch was so strong it destroyed the trees ahead of Mori) and tells him anything goes in the arena. Mori asks R how he did that, finally grabbing Mori's attention, to which R replies, "When you participate in the God of Highschool, you'll learn—", but before he could finish what he was saying. Mori interrupts him (again, bruh), saying he doesn't need any of it, proposing to R that if he wins, Mori will join this 'God of Highschool', and immediately gets into a fighting stance, ready to throw hands with R. The commissioner asks Mori if there really is a need for them to fight… Mori answers, clearly excited by R's power and the two fight (This bout was Mori Jin's first defeat out of all the 300 fights he's been in). Mori's punches were easily dealt with by R, and subdues him to the ground. But he quickly gets back up, which amazes R, Mori then proceeds to tell him that he must be feeling honored. Mori is now planning to show R why he is HIM and that he's about to use his feet (He legit said this, trust me). The footjob was so good, it actually damaged and broke R's left arm >.> … Ultimately, the results were still in R's favor, and Mori ends up joining the God of Highschool as promised. Rather than feeling frustrated by his loss, Mori was instead filled with passion and excitement, exclaiming to the sky (his Grandpa specifically) that he's finally found someone strong.
A more in-depth reason to why Daewi Han joined the competition
His highschool buddy was suffering a serious illness, even his friend's sister couldn't cover up the hospital bills, so Daewi joins in to ease the burden. Unfortunately, the treatment his friend needs costs a lot of money, so Daewi has been taking on a lot of part-time jobs and shifts to rake up some cash. Just like Mori, a green-haired man in black suit shows up to his part-time job, says that he's a commissioner from The God of Highschool, and so on. Daewi asks can he get $8,000,000 if he won, the man in black suit tells him forget the treatment, they can even cure his friend instantly if he did. Daewi was shocked how the man knew about his friend, and if they can really grant what he asked. The man answers he'll be back in a bit, then leaves with a jet. Daewi counted all the cash he earned, which totals to a month's worth of his friend's hospital bills. He contemplates the man's offer a bit, but he was still skeptical about it and decides to ignore it.
The day after, he pays a quick visit to his friend, although the staff was pretty worked up, his buddy's condition worsened, stating that Daewi's bud has been in critical condition since midnight. Later in school, a bunch of pricks messed with Daewi during lunch break, even stole his hard-earned money and throwing them away to the dirty floor spilled with ramen juices. This was the last straw for Daewi, he then proceeds to show them who's the real bum by beating the shit out of them, oh wait, the man in black suit showed up in the cafeteria and Daewi asks if the offer from before was still cool. Making him participate in the competition too. Prior to Daewi's friend being hospitalized, the two of them were known as the coolest kids in the block, The Mad Cow Duo, kicking the asses of all the gangs in South Korea.
Mira Yoo's arrival
Mira's an honor student, while her boyfriend, Minseo Seo is a battle junkie delinquent. Despite her good looks and grades, her friends questions Mira's taste in boys, stating why is she only interested in strong men, " 'Cause being strong is cool! ". Mira gleefully answers, while her mates lament her and her decisions. Later on, they got jumped by a group of delinquents, Minseo urges Mira to escape, however she was blocked off by chasers (to which Mira beats up later). Mira's boyfriend is in a tough spot with all the people, the group shows up along with MIra, Mira was disappointed with her boyfriend. She says that if he's strong, he should be able to take on 20 guys at once. She asks Minseo why she's struggling with fodder, this angers the delinquent group to attack her, but she goes on to show why she is girlboss and whoops their asses with ease using her swordsmanship. She then breaks up with her boyfriend, and continues to pummel the living daylights out of the remaining delinquents, this time she doesn't use her sword against them (they weren't worthy for her to draw her sword), she goes out of her way to show her charm as the pretty girl she is and show the delinquent why people call her the head turner by rotating blud's head 120 degrees and snapping their necks (lmao see what I did there). A terrified commissioner shows up, afraid to look Mira in the eyes, informs her that she's qualified to participate in the God of Highschool, which in turn, she accepts. ONLY TO FIND GOOD SEED!!! (Nah she joined for the purpose of keeping her family's swordsmanship alive, so she needs to find HIM to keep the sword style strong and going)
Invites were also sent out all around the world, but the Anime for some reason states that it's to see who's the strongest highschooler in South Korea. The anime also starts at chapter 4 of the God of HIghschool webtoon. Holy hell, they cut out A LOT of stuff, it's not an exaggeration to say they removed like 60-70% of the story so, besides the good fight scenes, the anime adaptation was so SHIT.
The start of the Episode
Mori Jin is just like our fellow Itadori Wuji, he screamed Jennifer Lopez when he was late. They did not show Obama being the president of the United States. The commissioners were debating on who would be the winner, with R expressing his opinion it being No. 41 (Mori Jin). But the green-haired man who recruited Daewi says no to R's first amendment, telling R he's a bum and makes fun of R because he was a bumR, for having his left arm broken, further stating that if it were him, he'd rather court death. This statement infuriates bumR, and just as the two were about to duke it out, the white-haired commissioner that recruited Mira stops them. He also claims that the one who'd win would be No. 105 (Mira Yoo), still visibly terrified of the incident as he says that Mira is a real monster, the glazing was peak.
That's ONLY EPISODE 1, wow, I typed out an essay for all the things they didn't show/mention. And this goes on until the end of the adaptation, so the anime turns out being poorly received…
